Objectives

•TO PROMOTE THE EUROPE OF THE ACTORS

Europe and Society's objective is to complement the action taken by the institutions on the terrain of the companies and économic and social organisations.
Its conferences, working parties and publications are intended to encourage dialogue between économic and social actors, political decision-makers and Community experts.
Thanks to quality information, European leaders are enabled to see beyond their immediate horizons and to look ahead with a middle-term view.

•TO RISE TO THE CHALLENGE OF EUROPEAN COMPETITIVENESS

Europe and Society's aim is to urge managers and administrators to define and promote the means to achieve a new European competitiveness.
It is the business of all the various decision-makers to exploit the opportunity presented by the home market in order to equip themselves with new assets in the struggle for greater competitiveness.
European industry will not become really strong and compétitive on a world scale unless the économic and social actors join forces.

•TO PLAY THE TRUMP CARD OF THE EUROPEAN IDENTITY

The move Europe and Society wishes to see made is the one which will give all the European actors all the space they are entitled to ; it is the multiplication of synergies between regions, companies and educational and cultural structures ; it is the taking into account of differences and the search for ways of responding to the disparities. It is hoped that by exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and working together on projects, the actors will discover the reality of this European identity in concrete terms and learn to capitalise on it.
It is on all the various économic and social actors and not on the states alone that the cohesion indispensable to the Europe of the 21st century depends.

Role

•A EUROPEAN MEETING PLACE

Europe and Society offers to a number of leaders and managers opportunities to meet and exchange views, opportunities which they would not find elsewhere. It is with this role in mind that the association strives to multiply and diversify the various possibilities offered to its members :
    • European conferences,
    • More restricted meetings on a specialised theme,
    • Debates with top level European personalities,
    • Symposia for thé different branches of industry.

•A PLACE FOR STUDY AND PROPOSALS

Europe and Society is a privileged and completely independent centre of communication. Its role is to build footbridges between two levels which are still too far apart — the macro - and the micro - économic— between two universes, where the logic and references of the one appear to be completely distinct from those of the other : the universe of the companies and that of the institutional world.
The seizing and developing of every opportunity for interaction between these two levels is the criterion which guides Europe anc Society in the choice of its study themes and proposals.

•A CENTER FOR THE SPREADING AND RADIATING OF IDEAS

Europe and Society's intention is to act as a platform providing as wide a circulation as possible for the ideas, proposals and initiatives of the économic and social actors it has gathered together.
This diffusion policy is carried out in several ways :
    • It uses Europe and Society's own publications including the "Cahiers" and the "Lettre" d'Europe et Société,
    • It is keen to develop contacts with various media in order to put at their disposali the fruits of the meetings
     held and the studies made,
    • It organises lectures or sessions that are likely to give certain strategically sensitive audiences insights into       European themes.
